well there's a question!!

recently collapsed at work--never thought anything about it until doc suggested that i visit ent as had laberyntitis in the past--but i hadn't thought anything of the incident as i had been under the weather for a few days.

so appointment duely arrives and i go along

hearing test--so so

ears checks --so-so

march on the spot with my eyes closed---what!!!!!!

any way hubby was with me for the last two things and apparently i did't march i shuffled the whole time

consult sya meniers---what--more tablets and a leaflet to read--and mri to follow

so have nearly three weeks off have mri --nothing signifiacnt found--any further probs see GP hang on he said he would review me in 3 months now GP to sort things out--

take tabs 3 daily---- doc now says hang on no need for tabs unless have a turn and NOT meniers!!!--how come!!! because it takes more than one consult to diagnose!!!!!---are you confused cos i am!

so i wait until i have another turn---when ever that may be--and then what???

is it just me or are you confused as well

sorry just ranting cos confused

o Carol i can sympathise and understand your confusion a little - as my hubby has had very similar experience... with labyrinthitis previously - collapsed last year - now... continuing problems but consultant says not labyrinthitis this time - some hearing loss already confirmed - more tests took place including Mri and others but STILL waiting for results including mri results which took place AGES ago - hubby not liking to complain... SO i phoned consultants secretary on his behalf... hospital admitting they have been lapse with patient care - ...but unable to give results over the phone - not even to hubby - the appointment booked for last week had to be cancelled due to snow - hospital not able to send results to GP ...OR in the post - appointment re-booked for 20th Jan....
waiting game is not much fun especially when feeling confused... not to mention anxious...
.... a diagnosis would be very helpful and stop some of the worrying about what it is...
Just wanted you to feel you not alone & i really hope things improve for you xx
Love and hugs to you from Liz xxxxx

So sorry to hear this Caz - I'm not surprised you are confused. The good news is that the MRI didn't show up anything sinister. It may just have been low BP or even an ear infection which wasn't picked up.

Take care and let us know how it goes.

Muh love

Hi Carol
i have meniers well had a op to cure it .

Yes the test with you marching on spot with eyes closed is an important one tells the doc a few things .
its where you sway too when marching tells him all sorts of things .

there is all sorts of treatment now .
I had a magior op to cure me but now its a chemail they put in your ear it does something to the balance . takes a few moments rather then a 5 day stay and a 3 hour op .

Mr Moffett of Cambridge has taught ent surgens his new methords .He is wonderfull as before he was the only one or anyone he taught that could cure it .

So don,t suffer there is treatment christine

Hi Carol - sorry to hear you are having a frustrating time. I had never heard of labarynthitis until this year and now I know 2 people who have it and they have had V strange episodes as well. I know it's hard not to have a diagnosis but hope you don't have another 'turn'.

Hi Carol,

Sorry things are so confusing for you - just what you don`t need. I can`t help with advice I`m afraid, though I did have labyrinthitis a couple of years ago & it was horrible.

Hope you feel better soon,

Kathleen x

Hi Caz,

Not surprised to hear that you're confused, and rightly so. Do hope you get some answers soon, in the meantime look after yourself and take plenty of time to rest.

Love,

Barbara
